Kevin Shaw APFS, Certs CII (MP & ER), Chartered Financial Planner

Kevin Shaw is the Founder and Managing Director of Circle Wealth Partners. He has worked in the financial services sector since 2001 and established the practice in 2010. Kevin is a Chartered Financial Planner, the gold standard in financial planning.

Whilst having overall responsibility for managing Circle Wealth Partners and the team of advisers, Kevin spends 80% of his time working with private clients. Kevin advises clients in many areas; he focuses on clients who have more complicated circumstances or specialist needs; inheritance tax planning and tax-efficient investing are some of the areas in which he specialises.

Kevin works with professional clients from various backgrounds such as partners in law and accountancy firms; entrepreneurs; senior executives; fund managers; the media and entertainment industry and retired clients; all who tend to have significant sums to invest.

Kevin’s focus on intergenerational wealth planning takes in to consideration all four areas of the ‘wealth circle’ when advising our clients on their long-term financial planning needs.

Matthew Parker DipPFS, Financial Planner

Matthew Parker has worked in the financial services industry since 2003 and joined the Practice in 2014. Matthew is working towards Chartered Financial Planner status.

Matthew specialises in retirement planning and tax-efficient investing. His focus is on ensuring his clients maximise their pension and investment potential, through understanding their goals, aims and objectives with regards to their finances. Through bespoke planning, research and face to face interaction, Matthew manages his clients ever changing financial needs through the building of long-lasting relationships, regularly re-visiting and re-analysing his client’s fundamental objectives.

Matthew works with clients such as Business owners, Investment Bankers, Solicitors, Accountants and retired clients, having built a strong network of likeminded professionals all wishing to provide the highest level of advice and service to their clients.

Matthew believes that the ‘Wealth circle’ truly reflects the intergenerational planning needs that will be of paramount importance for generations to come.

Rob Lye DipPFS, Financial Planner

Rob joined Circle Wealth Partners in 2017. He first worked in the Financial Sector in 2005 having previously worked in a large retail bank as well as large Mortgage Adviser companies.

As a Financial Planner, Rob believes it is essential to plan and constantly review all areas of the ‘wealth circle’. He believes, it is vital to build lifelong relationships with clients, in addition to understanding their personal and professional objectives, before expert financial advice is given. He builds his client base on introductions from private clients and his long-standing professional relationships. He writes bespoke financial plans to enable his clients to achieve their goals.

Rob is a former Royal Marine who likes to compete in endurance sports in his spare time, having completed the Marathon Des Sables, an Ironman, and several marathons.

Emma Wright DipPFS, Cert CII (MP), Financial Planner

Emma has over ten years of experience in financial services beginning her career in Regulatory Consulting and working in Compliance and Internal Audit roles at large Corporate companies in the areas of Wealth Management and Investment Management. Emma joined the Circle Wealth Partners team in 2017.

Emma works towards building strong long-term relationships with her clients, aiming to ensure that they are in the best possible financial position for their future through building a clear picture of their financial aims, objectives, current financial circumstances and applying the most appropriate advice for them. She commits to providing ongoing regular advice and portfolio reviews to her clients. She focuses on retirement planning, building a tax efficient portfolio, protection planning and inheritance tax planning. Emma works with individuals, business owners and trustees at all stages of the ‘wealth circle’.

Biba Walker-Shaw, Operations Director

Biba started her career in the specialist area of Aerial Mast Rigging recruitment where she was an Account Director in charge of the UK recruitment and managed UK wide accounts. She moved into commercial building recruitment in 2009 where she was in charge of the Surrey region for a Global Recruitment company.

Biba joined us in 2010. She deals with Business Strategy and works with third party providers to ensure our clients receive outstanding service and tailored communications. Biba also provides support with the seminar programme.

Thomas Dawkes DipFA, Senior Paraplanner

Thomas joined Circle Wealth Partners in 2015 and has worked in Financial Services since graduating from the University of Birmingham with a degree in BSc Mathematics with Business Management. He is a fully qualified Financial Adviser who currently leads our Asset Review Team as a Paraplanner.

Thomas works closely with all the financial planners within the business and his role is to analyse the client’s current circumstances to produce detailed reports that explain the adviser’s recommendations clearly and thoroughly. His role also consists of working with the compliance team in Cirencester to ensure that all regulatory standards are met.

Thomas is currently studying towards his Chartered Financial Planner status.

Arnie Blakemore, Trainee Paraplanner

Arnie joined the Practice in November 2018 after working for HOCHTIEF Construction UK as an Engineer on various projects across the UK. He obtained a First-Class Honours degree in Architectural Engineering from Cardiff University. Arnie works in our Asset Review Team as a Trainee Paraplanner whilst also studying for the CII Diploma in regulated Financial Planning to become a Financial Planner, he plans to continue to study to obtain the Chartered status.

In his spare time, Arnie enjoys competing in a variety of sports and has played rugby for his home town of Aberystwyth for a number of years and was part of the Wales-GB Under 18 Rowing Team.

Alex Smart, Business Development Consultant

Alex Smart joined our Practice in 2015 after spending the past 15 years working in a senior management position for one of the UK’s largest book distributors. He has a wealth of experience in dealing with both corporate and high net worth clients and manages our client acquisition and marketing strategy. Although Alex doesn’t offer financial advice himself, he does have relationship management responsibilities for some of our key introducers and professional relationships.

Angela Hammond, Executive Assistant

Angela is involved with all client-facing tasks within the office, supporting Kevin with diary management and client communications. She is responsible for day to day administration, investment processing and the running of the office to ensure that Kevin can spend as much time as possible with his clients. Angela has 20 years’ experience working within client-orientated roles and has been with the practice since April 2017.

Sophie Edgar, Executive Assistant

Sophie joined Circle Wealth Partners in April 2019. She obtained a Law degree from the University of Bristol in 2013 and has spent the six years since working in client-facing legal and senior executive support positions.

Sophie works closely with Angela to provide full support to our Financial Planning team.

Freya Parker Smith, Executive Assistant

Freya provides support to our Financial Planners with diary management, business processing, office administration and client communications. Freya has been with the practice since February 2018.

Freya has 7 years’ experience working within client-oriented roles.
